Looks like the D1GP is on it's way. Here is a quick sneak peek while they are setting up. We staked out our spot, so don't forget to come visit our booth, Saturday! It's amazing how they can make a empty lot into a venue like the one below, in such a short time...

GReddy Super Swift at Hyper Meeting 2009
This past weekend the TRUST R&D guys had a little fun themselves at the 2009 Hyper Festival at the Tsukuba Circuit in Japan. The Hyper Festival is a event geared around popular Japanese models for tuning. Some of the most popular at this event were the Mitsubishi Evolution, Subaru Impreza, and the Suzuki Swift.
In Japan, the Suzuki Swift has a growing cult-like following (something like the Scion movement in California) The economical price and small size make them an ideal tuning choice for many entry level, grass-root racers. One of leaders in this market is TRUST, having developed many aftermarket products for this popular JDM model, including a bolt-on supercharger kit, suspension, brakes and various other tuner parts.
One of the mini event for the Hyper Festival was a 3 lap all Suzuki Swift race. With Japanese Super GT driver Takeshi Tsuchiya at the wheel the yellow GReddy Super Swift, the team posted the fastest Swift time in practice and the race (1'08"754.) But, because of the lottery style qualifying order, the GReddy Super Swift started from 13th out of 15. But by the end of the 3 lap race, the car had passed its way all the way up to a 4th place finish. Pretty good for just a fun day at the track...

We wonder if Suzuki USA will bring this fun little car to the American market?

Drift Weekend - Drift Day back at El Toro
This weekend marked the start of the 2009 Formula D Pro-Drift Series. It was cool to see all the new pro cars and drivers for this year back in Long Beach. After watching a great show Saturday, it was really great to see the Drift Association Staff, Sunday in our local community at the El Toro Air Field. (You might recognize the El Toro, form our GReddy Fest last year or from the popular online Ken Block Gymkhana videos floating around.)
Drift Association is a great grassroots source for the not only experienced drivers, but novice drivers, who want a safe environment to drift there tuned vehicles. Plus even if you don't have your own drift car, (or don't want to drift your car) there is Drift 101 for beginners to learn the key basics. To get started and for more info please see: www.driftday.com
GReddy is a proud friend of Drift Association and we hope to come out and visit them again soon. Who knows we might even convince them to help us out on some more GReddy driving events at El Toro...

Informeter Touch - Video (just a few of the basics)
Since we were installing a Informeter TOUCH onto our RalliArt mini-project, we decided to make a short video with just a few of the basics for this multi-function Display, Datalogger, & DTC. As you can see in the video, the installation and operations are both very simple. Within a few moments of using the large 3.5" color touch screen, you will fall in love with it's usefulness, ease and style. This video only shows a small portion of it's features, but we think you'll get the idea. Check it out here, first on our GReddy USA blog....

New RalliArt mini project.
This week we picked up a new RalliArt Lancer from Mitsubishi USA, to start-off on a little mini-project. Plans are not for a full on demo car, but a more modest, street build for a fun, quick, daily driver. (so check back with us for updates)
As a base car, we noticed the vehicle is pretty quick on the street with it's rated 237hp RalliArt 4B11 MIVEC turbo engine and 6 speed twin clutch sportronic shift transmission. This is the same trans that comes in the Evo X MR, but for a price tag about $10K less. From the EVO X, there are many differences in suspension, brakes, interior, turbo, and ecu, but for an inexpensive base AWD turbo car, it's a great choice to start a very quick and reliable street car. And that is what we are looking for in this mini-build.
