After Round 4 of the Formula Drift season, Ken Gushi and the GReddy X Scion Racing Team move up in the rankings from 14 to 12th in the Championships.
The New Jersey Wall Speedway track matched up well with Ken's aggressive driving lines and the drift FR-S' lightweight agility. This brought the Team it's highest Qualifying position of 9th place, to start Saturday's main event. (After an close call with the Wall Speedway banked guardrail, in Ken's 1st Qualifying run in the wet, on Friday, the 2nd Qualifying run in dry conditions, had high Ken placing the Drift FR-S high on the bank for a solid score.)
In Saturday morning's 32 brackets, the GReddy team defeated Pat Mordaunt in his Apexi Lexus. This sent the Ken to battle against fellow Hankook Tire teammate and last year's event winner, Conrad Grunewald, in his Camero. Ken's driving and line looked great on the 1st "chase" run, but a misjudgement on the 2nd "lead" run, with an early transition ended the day early in the Top16.
Congratulations to FD Rd.4 Winners
1st - Vaughn Gitten 2nd - Daijiro Yoshihara 3rd - Chris Forsberg
All in all, the GReddy X Scion Racing Drift FR-S preformed flawlessly and the Team had a great time with the fans of the Tri-State area. We are really looking forward to the next Round, at the Evergreen Speedway in Washington, July 20-21.
