After a long 7-week season break, the Formula Drift Pro Championship resumed for Round 6, with a new location, the huge Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. The Team was excited to tryout new modifications made to the GReddy Performance X Scion Racing Drift FR-S, in the off season. Even with very warm weather and the occasional flash rain storm, the weekend was looking up for the Team. Practice sessions on Thursday and and Friday went well with Ken Gushi at the wheel.
Ken's lines and speed were good on the simple but high speed in-field course. In the Formula D "Knock-out" Qualifying system, Ken scored a solid 81.9pts, with a 96mph entry speed, and 75.9mph in the "touch and go" section of the track, locking him into the 12th position for Saturdays Top32.
In Top32 Ken was matched up with Danny George and his V8 NOS powered Miata. An "One More Time" call was made by the judges for the first two tandem runs.
After the third run, it looked like Ken had a clear advantage in the "Lead" position. Unfortunately, a slight mistake of pushing a little too hard in the "Following" position ending the weekend early.
In the end, it was another learning experience for the Team, and we are all looking forward to battling it out with nothing to loose for the final 2013 round in the "House of Drift," Irwindale Speedway... Oct. 11-12th
