1st place for the turbo GReddy tC Team at Rd3, Redline Time Attack!

We are happy to report the hard work and recent upgrades to the #11 GReddy tC have paid off with a 1st place finish at this past Memorial-Day weekend's Rd.3 of the Redline Time Attack FWD Street Tire Class

The event took the team to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana California.  The high speed "ROVAL" course proved to be formidable test with it's high speed NASCAR banked Straight and banked-Turn.  The Team had to make numerous adjustments to the 2011 tC's set-up all weekend, but in the end, the GReddy strengthened-2AR engine held up well to the increased turbo boost, leading up to a winning run by Driver/Builder Takeshi Aizawa of 1:55.2sec.

The entire GReddy Team is very proud to achieve this accomplishment with the new 2011 Scion tC in just 3 races with the car.  The #11 GReddy tC highlights the might of the new GReddy tC components that will soon be released: GReddy tC Tuner Turbo Kit, Type-S coil-over suspension kit, e-Manage Ultimate, and Turbo Ti-C exhaust.
We would also like to acknowledge all of the Team's Technical Partners for their support: GPP, Scion Racing, Toyo Tires, OS Giken, Rays Wheels, APR, Five:AD, Sparco, WPC, TRD, Engergy Suspension, Project Mu, Mother's, S&A Designs, Seibon, DriftSpeed, Hiro's Auto Repair, Papadakis Racing, & Design Craft. (and thank you Chris Harrington for the great photos!)

#11 GReddy tC is ready to Attack Rd.3 in Fontana

This weekend, May 28-29, Redline Time Attack will be back in town for Rd.3 at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA.  http://www.redlinetrackevents.com/?p=772

Our R&D tech and Driver Takeshi is excited to get on the track.  So please come out to Rd 3 this weekend to support the GReddy Team!

And the GReddy Team has been hard at work taking the turbo #11 GReddy tC to the next evolution, with a strengthen 2AR engine and drive train for more boost.

The engine retains its factory specs but now has prototype GReddy forged pistons and rods with WPC metal surface treatment.  The transmission has also been upgraded with an OS Giken LSD and twin plate clutch.

The GReddy-Turbocharged Sparco Rally xD gets it's 1st win!

The Sparco Rally xD had been in competition for just about 1year and it has always been known for it's reliability.  But just a few weeks ago, the GReddy Team was asked by the team for help in adding more power to take the car to the next level.  And after some shake-down and adjustments at the Olympus event, the driver and navigator combo of "ACP" Andrew Comrie-Picard / Jeremy Wimpey took home the RallyxD's 1st 2WD event WIN in the Rally-America, Oregon Trail Rally!!!

(On hand was our very own, President of GPP GReddy Performance Products, Inc. USA, Kenji Sumino providing at the track support.)

GReddy IS-F Exhaust Preview #1

      GReddy RACING TITANIUM (coming soon...)

UPDATE: Preview #2

There has been a lot anticipation over the new GReddy IS-F exhaust since our 1st prototype for the 0-60 Lexus IS-F project.  But over that time, we have been working on improving the design and making it the ultimate IS-F performance exhaust system...

  • The final production GReddy IS-F exhaust keeps it's unique V8 Dual to Quad design, with dual 60-70mm piping expanding to quad 60mm piping for great performance.
  • Another premium benefit is use of full light-weight Titanium.  Reducing the weight by 50% over the factory systems (from the OEM 71lbs to the GReddy Ti 35lbs)
  • The aggressive V8 grow is present, but tuned for the street with two inline resonators on the H-pipe and two large volume dual straight-through Titanium oval mufflers.
  • Requested by many IS-F owners is the option to run the included four bolt-on 90mm Titanium GReddy Tips or the factory OEM bumper mounted Tips.

More details on pricing, release date and sound clips coming soon...

Second 2nd Place in Round Two

Adding to our original Redline Time Attack schedule, the team decided to take a last-minute trip to Arizona for Round 2 at Firebird International Raceway.  The trip paid off with a 2nd Place in the FWD- Street Tire Class.  The car had greatly improved pace from round 1.

With rain storms Saturday, practice number one was canceled.  So we had little practice for the main event.  But the improvements made after our debut race, really showed some progress in the development of our #11 GReddy tC on the Sunday.  Still utilizing our Tuner Turbo Kit on the stock Scion 2AR engine, the upgraded OS Giken clutch and flywheel gave more reliability for the 300whp worth of boost.  While the lightened carbon hood and hatch, along with the APR front splitter and GT wing gave more stability for driver Takeshi Aizawa.  Allowing Takeshi to run a respectable 1:10.873 best lap, only 1.374 sec behind 1st.   The team is really looking forward to Rd.3 in Fontana on May 28-29th.

#11 GReddy tC at Redline Time Attack Rd.2, Sunday

Redline Time Attack Rd.2 - Firebird International Raceway -this Sat. & Sun.  (4/9-4/11)

Originally we were not planning on making the 6hr. trek out to Arizona, but after getting some new upgrades for the #11 GReddy tC, we are anxious to have some more fun on the track.

Since Round 1, we have lightened up the car a little with a carbon hood & hatch, added an APR aero splitter and wing, and got in our prototype OS Giken clutch, from Japan.

The upgrade clutch will allow us to "boost-up" on the stock (GReddy Turbocharged) 2AR engine.   Driver Takeshi Aizawa can't wait to get the car on the track!   Wish us luck for this week's race.

Another project for the GReddy R&D Team

GReddy has been behind the Scion Racing (now Sparco) Rally xD program from day one, but now that they need some more power (and more importantly torque,) the GReddy R&D team have put together a reliable low boost, quick response custom bolt-on turbo kit to help the Rally xD out of the corners.  Based around a quick spooling TD04H-15G turbo and our e-Manage Ultimate, the kit also features a protected front-mounted intercooler and easy rescue piping to bypass the intercooler (in case of unpredictable rally damage.)

Here is a quick video of the e-Manage Ultimate data-logging the Rally xD on the dyno (in an early tuning session)  Tuning continues, more details on the project coming soon...

and for those of you, who haven't seen this little rally "dynamo" in action, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXOajXjjGLc

156+ SoCalEvo.net Evos at GReddy!

Yesterday (Sunday, March 27th) started off as an unexpected rainy day in Southern California, but that did not keep away the 156 hardcore SoCalEvo.net enthusiasts from bringing out their CT9A & CZ4A Evos for some fun.

(At GReddyFEST2, this past September, the SoCalEvo.net group won our Scavenger Hunt for a private group meet.)

With the help of avid SoCalEvo.net members like "AlphaKennyBody" Ralphy and his crew, convoys of SoCalEvo members from Los Angeles, San Diego, Inland Empire and Orange County gathered at the GReddy HQ for a huge SoCalEvo.net car meet and dyno-day.
- Also in attendance was NOS Energy Drinks, Mackin Industries (Ray's/Advan/Project Mu distributors,) and Dsport Magazine.

The day was filled with car enthusiast mingling with GReddy staff and talking about Mitsubishi Evos and GReddy performance products.

One of the highlights of the day was the GReddy "Guess the HP!" game, where everyone in attendance had a chance to guess the HP of 6 Evos that were put on the GReddy Dyno!
The Closest guess for each won a GReddy Goodie Bag!
Congratulations again to : SoCalEvo's
 "allblackevo," "Fernani," "Fernani2," "Evobros," "Viet-man," & "JDMjunkies42"
for your awesome guesses!

The winner of the Dyno Contest was SoCalEvo's :

  • "Departed" for the Evo Xs - 357.6hp
  • "ReeseTuning" for the Evo VIII / IXs - 623.3hp

Thanks again SoCalEvo.net for having your Meet at GReddy.
It was a pleasure meeting you all!
