  GReddy Performance Products is excited to announce the release of the highly anticipated T518Z Tuner Turbo Kit for the 2013- Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ. With extensive testing both in Japan and the USA, this turbo kit was designed to enhance the overall performance for daily drivers and weekend racers. An ideal turbo sizing maintains the vehicles balanced driver feel, by maintaining good low-end response with the factory engine components. But the most noticeable improvements can be noticed on the factory power-band's dip in mid-range torque and at high RPM top-end power.

GReddy dyno test showed a +93.5whp / +68.7ft-lbs increase at 7psi on a stock 2013 Scion FR-S with factory injectors and fuel pump, just adding a *GReddy-tuned EcuTek ecu, and a *GReddy Evo3 70mm exhaust, - (* not Included) (Note: tuning for more power will require additional fuel enrichment upgrades) But even more importantly, the mid-range torque from 3150-4750 RPMs are significantly improved over the stock torque curve

Round 2 - Road Atlanta 2013

 Monday Coverage from Formula Drift #FDATL:

 

Unfortunately our trip to Formula Drift Rd.2 Atlanta this weekend, did not go at all as planned.  Although Ken Gushi and GReddy Racing X Scion Racing Drift FR-S was in top form during Thursday and Friday practice, the results were less then ideal.  The car showed great speed and lots of smoke.  But it was a mechanical failure late in the last practice session right before Friday qualifying, that ended the race weekend early for the team.



The Team rallied to rectify the problem in time for Ken make a qualifying attempt, but just didn't have enough time with the new knock-out style qualifying system. 
 

It was a great disappointment for the entire team not have the Drift FR-S running on Saturdays for the fans, but Ken made the best of the bad situation to take time to visit with fans in the pits.  We will strive to do much better in the next round, Rd.3 Palm Beach, FL at the end of this month.  May 31-June 1st.

New GReddy Blow-Off Valve FV will soon be here

GReddy is proud to introduce a new generation of "Push Type Blow Off Valve," the GReddy BOV FV.  The "FV" stand for Floating Valve, and it is this breakthrough in design that produces quicker valve response, increased valve travel, and improved resistance to premature valve lift and boost leak.  The unique floating valve design incorporates a revised adjustable dual spring system and diaphragm ventilation, while maintaining the advantages of the previous model's push valve structure and heat resistant silicone diaphragm and valve ratio. This allows the springs and diaphragm to better control the valve and boost.  By relocating one spring under and keeping one over the diaphragm, it makes the need for spring pre-load less dependent on idle and light boost situations and more on keeping the valve closed under boost.  The result is our best performing GReddy Blow-off Valve yet!  Another improvement includes an adjustable, sliding top hat, to adjust the hose fitting location, without complete dis-assembly.  The FV also keeps its overall mounting and outlet dimensions, which means it is compatible with the industry standard two-bolt GReddy BOV flange and can easily replace existing Type RS & RZ applications, as well as use the same optional RS and RZ outlet adapters. Round 1 - Streets of Long Beach 2013

Pro Drifter Ken Gushi starts off the second season in the newly refreshed GReddy Performance X Scion Racing Drift FR-S with a solid Great 8 finish (out of 53 registered drivers) in the 2013 Formula Drift Pro Championship season opener (62pts)...

With a new Formula D knock-out qualifying process, Ken only got in one qualifying lap.  So the 73.4pt run was good enough to lock in a top 16 spot, of 14th position.

That matched up Ken with Kyle Mohan (19th) in his RX-8 for the Top32 round.  Ken had two clean runs and moved on to the Main Event and the Top 16 round.  In the Top 16, Ken defeated number 3 qualifier, Mike Essa in his new BMW M3.

That set-up a Great 8 match up with Vaughn Gitten in his Ford Mustang, who went on to finish the event in 2nd place.   All in all, not a bad start for the team.  The next round is just around the corner, May 10-11 at Road Atlanta and the GReddy Team already have some more upgrades on the way!      Congratulations to: 1st Dai Yoshihara, 2nd Jr. Gitten, 3rd Chris Forsberg

It was also a great event off the track as well, we had special Guest Kei Miura of the famous TRA Kyoto (Rocket Bunny).  So in the GReddy vendor booth we had a Limited Edition GReddy X Rocket Bunny T-Shirt as well as another new GReddy "Blue Outline" Logo Tshirt.  (We still have some T-shirts left and they can be purchased from our official online store, www.ShopGReddy.com...)

Also in the GReddy booth was Ken Gushi's personal FR-S with a GReddy Tuner Turbo Kit and Ken was signing new Scion Racing Hero card with Shin Tanaka Paper Shapers version of the GReddy Performance X Scion Racing Drift FR-S.
